 NAPTIP rescues 26 victims trafficked from Akwa Ibom State

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued 26 victims trafficked from Akwa Ibom State from suspected human traffickers in Ogun State.

The Uyo Zonal Commander of NAPTIP, Ubong Ekwere, who disclosed this in a chat with our correspondent, Anthony Esin, said the victims were captured by men of the agency in Ogun state where they were taken to work as sex slaves in an inhuman condition.

The NAPTIP boss who said the agency has been proactive in tackling the menace further called for collaborative effort by individuals, NGOs and the government in combatting it.

He said the suspects arrested in connection with the crime would be prosecuted in accordance with the extant.
